“It’s often hard to convey any supernatural aspects within a show, but director Maddy Corner executes it without any over-the-top effects or unnecessary jump scares, she keeps it simple, yet effective, maintaining a level of tension-filled unease throughout.”

Additionally, each performance of SIMA features creative captioning which is a fantastic integration to make shows more accessible”

“You’re going to find me like I found you. Thinking we’re just two ships in the night, that shouldn't have stumbled across each other. But we did because it was meant to be.”

Sima is a morality play set in the flat of an isolated university student, Jess. When she opens up her home to a stranger in need of her help, this unlikely encounter forces Jess to face her demons in order to save Sima. Set in modern-day Edinburgh, this groundbreaking new play blurs naturalism with the supernatural, taking us out of the ordinary and into a world that is spiritual, ancient, and uncertain.

Artistically integrated captions make this play accessible for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences.

This production was partnered with Advance Charity.
